Light in Public

Concept for urban lighting situations - Lund University, 2019

This project addresses the lighting situations in our new ‘green cities’. Where new and existing trees cast their shadows this luminaire will add light. Using the trees as light poles the aim for this project was to fill in the gaps in todays lighting situation promoting the notion of ‘a walkable city’.

Background

New lighting opportunities in ‘Green Cities’

New urban planning means introducing more nature into our cities. Green areas or strategically placed trees allows for a more sustainable city development. Urban planning is also working to develop better accessibility for people choosing to transport themselves by foot or bike.
